Best Coffee Shops in Boise for Remote Work & Creative Meetings
As a freelancer, finding a good local spot to work from can completely change my productivity for the day. Sometimes just getting out of the house, grabbing a coffee, and being around other people working helps me focus so much more.
Over the past few years, I’ve found some incredible local coffee shops around Boise that are perfect for remote work, creative meetings, or simply getting through a long to-do list. Cozy seating, table space, plug-ins, atmosphere, and good coffee all matter when you’re planning to stay somewhere for a few hours.
While Starbucks is the go-to for many people, I personally love supporting local Boise businesses whenever I can.
Here are some of my favorite coffee shops in Boise for remote work and creative inspiration.
Dawson Taylor Coffee Roasters — Downtown Boise
Located in the heart of downtown Boise, Dawson Taylor is one of my favorite places to work when I want a change of scenery and a little extra motivation.
Part of what makes this spot so inspiring is the walk through the downtown Boise area, especially around 8th Street. The energy, movement, and overall atmosphere always help me get into a productive mindset before I even sit down.
The café itself has plenty of seating, plug-ins, and enough space to comfortably set up a laptop for a few hours. Their coffee is fantastic, and they also have great pastries and food options if you’re planning to stay awhile.
One of my favorite tricks is parking closer to the State Street and Capitol area where free street parking is usually easier to find, then walking over.
Neckar Coffee — Downtown Boise
Located near 10th and Grove in downtown Boise, Neckar Coffee has one of the best work environments for focused productivity.
I especially love their bar-top seating area because there are plenty of plug-ins and usually a few other people working nearby. I’ve realized I work best when I’m around other people who are also focused — something often called “body doubling.” Even without talking to anyone, just being in a productive environment can make a huge difference.
The coffee here is also incredible and very intentionally crafted. The overall atmosphere feels modern, creative, and calm without being too quiet or intimidating.
Flying M Coffee House —Downtown Boise
Flying M is one of the coziest coffee shops in downtown Boise and easily one of my favorite places to spend a slower workday.
Located on Idaho Street, this café has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, great espresso, and some of the best chai in Boise — which they actually make in-house.
I love sitting outside here and people-watching while working through emails or smaller creative tasks. The atmosphere feels relaxed, artistic, and welcoming. There’s also a small gift shop inside, which makes it a fun place to take little mental breaks during longer work sessions.
Alchemist Coffee — 27th St.
Located near 27th Street, Alchemist Coffee is one of my favorite spots in Boise when I need a larger workspace or plan on staying for a while.
The café itself is very open and spacious, making it easy to spread out and settle in for a productive afternoon. Unlike many smaller coffee shops, they also offer full breakfast and lunch plates in addition to pastries and drinks.
Their Bourbon Caramel Latte is genuinely one of the most unique coffee drinks I’ve had in Boise and absolutely worth trying.
Push & Pour — Boise Bench
Push & Pour, located near Latah Street, has one of the best collaborative and community-driven atmospheres in Boise.
Both the indoor and outdoor seating areas feel inspiring and welcoming, making it a great place for creative meetings or casual work sessions. Their espresso is incredibly smooth and balanced — honestly one of the few places where I’ll happily sip straight espresso on its own.
The staff and regular customers are always friendly, and it’s one of those coffee shops where you can immediately tell people genuinely love being there.
One thing to note: weekends can get very busy, so finding a workspace may be a little more difficult during peak hours.
Final Thoughts
One of my favorite things about Boise is how many locally owned coffee shops there are to explore. Every shop has a completely different atmosphere depending on the kind of workday you need — whether that’s a quiet creative reset, a collaborative environment, or simply somewhere cozy to answer emails for a few hours.
If you work remotely, freelance, run a small business, or just enjoy exploring local Boise coffee shops, these are all places I genuinely recommend checking out.
And honestly, finding a workspace you enjoy can make work feel a little less like work.
